First Place, “Brewing Flower Power: Reclaiming Feminist Space in Hyde Park”, University of Calgary, CBDX: Cities for All Competition, January 2021. Inspired by historic women-run tearooms like the Willow Tea Room, this award-winning winter pavilion reimagines the tearoom as a feminist public space. Built from ice and filled with suspended blocks containing floral teas and seeds, the structure invites visitors to brew tea and gather in a sensory winter landscape. As the pavilion melts in spring, embedded seeds disperse into the park, giving way to a meadow of wildflowers—an ephemeral installation that leaves behind a living memory of quiet resistance.
