Time, Sequence, Event: The Island
Mapping Tasmania examines the impact of industrial activities on Tasmania's changing landscape. With a shift from mining to tourism and forestry, these industries contribute to coastal erosion and salt deposition. Using GIS mapping, film, and geomorphology analysis, the research focuses on dredging and logging’s effects on landforms.

Tasmania's deep port in Hobart, along with smaller ports in Burnie and Devonport, sees heavy maritime traffic. Temporal maps of these routes reveal their environmental impact. The deepening of the Huon River for commercial transport has led to sediment contamination from dredge dumping. This research uncovers the unseen effects of industrial activities on the environment.
