Transpacific Ethnobotany

Conference Presentation, AAG Detroit
Paper Panel, AAS Columbus

Presented as an accepted paper at AAG and AAS, the project draws on Lisa Lowe’s The Intimacies of Four Continents to explore how ecological governance and racial exclusion intersect.
Using USDA archives, it critiques the "invasive" label, revealing how ecological risk and racial threat converge in bioregulation practices. The project challenges static notions of invasiveness, proposing a dynamic approach that considers environmental displacement and geopolitical histories.
